Description
English: The armorial ensigns and supporters of Mauritius are described as:

(a) for arms-

  1. Quarterly azure and or.
  2. In the first quarter a lymphad or.
  3. In the second, 3 palm trees vert.
  4. In the third, a key in pale the wards downwards gules.
  5. In the issuant, from the base a pile, and in chief a mullet argent.

(b) for the supporters-

  1. On the dexter side, a dodo per bend sinister embattled gules and argent, and
  2. On the sinister side, a sambur deer per bend embattled argent and gules, each supporting a sugar cane erect proper,
(c) with the motto "Stella Clavisque Maris Indici” (Latin: Star and Key of the Indian Ocean)
Français : Les enseignes et les figures du blason sont décrites comme suit:

(a) pour les bras-

  1. Trimestriel azur et d'or.
  2. Dans le premier, un lymphad en or.
  3. Dans le second, 3 palmiers vert.
  4. Dans le troisième, une clé pâles vers le bas, couleur gules.
  5. Dans le dernier, une étoile d'argent qui pointe une lumière sur un fond bleu.

(b) pour les figures-

  1. à gauche, le dodo, et
  2. Sur le côté sinistre, un cerf de sambur par virage argent et de gueules crénelée, supportant chacun une canne à sucre
(c) avec le slogan «Stella Maris Clavisque Indici" (Latin: L'étoile et la clé de l'Océan)
